If he isn’t behind the boards running sound for the sanctuary or livestream on Sunday, you might see him serving with the Worship Ministry playing electric guitar or the keys. His vision is to see the Lord glorified in all that we do, and is excited to be a part of the work that God is doing through Reliance Church.
Get to know Josh!
What is your role at Reliance Church?
I’m an audio engineer! I help out with mixing on Sunday mornings and the creation of content throughout the week.
Describe your job in five words?
I make things sound good!
When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
First a ninja, then a gamer, then a music producer. I ended up pursuing the last one and ended up here.
Coffee, Tea, or Soda?
Coffee. No question. Tea and soda are good too but I’ve been getting a lot more into coffee lately and have really been enjoying it.
Go-to worship song?
Oof, that’s hard to pick, but “Rattle” by Elevation Worship is probably the one I come back to most consistently. “Meant To Live” by Switchfoot if that counts too!
Who has had the most influence in your spiritual life?
Honestly, I think that all the staff here at Reliance are the biggest influences on my spiritual life at this point. Everybody here truly does reflect the love of Christ and I feel my spirit renewed any time I get to hang out with them.
Food you can’t live without?
Tacos! Can’t live without ‘em. Carne asada are the best but I’ll eat any. Extra points if they’ve got salsa verde on them though.
Which Bible character would you most likely to be best friends with?
Gideon. I’ve always appreciated how human he is in his initial reluctance to fulfill God’s calling on his life, but how God proved himself to be faithful and led him to great victories for Israel. I think he’d be super cool to talk to about that and he would be really encouraging whenever it seems like God is asking something difficult from me.
Favorite Quote of all time?
“Faith is the highest passion in a man. There are perhaps many in every generation who do not even reach it, but no one gets further.” — Søren Kierkegaard
What is your hope for Reliance Church?
To see it grow as a light and positive influence in Temecula Valley and beyond. I want to see Reliance touch the lives of all who step through our doors and lead many to love and serve Christ. I pray that we do so with the grace and humility of Jesus, and that we are a true and noble reflection of His love for us.
