“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” Jeremiah 17:9
There are circumstances in this short life we have on earth that have an effect on the inner most being that we could have never expected. We may be able to prepare for it, see it coming a mile down the road, or even know it’s in God’s perfect will to come to fruition. Yet, if I am only looking out for what would benefit me the greatest, it’s nearly impossible for me to share in the joy I should rightfully share in the fruit of the work the Lord is doing.
Panama is a country that needs to hear the good news of Jesus Christ, and that’s exactly what the team from Reliance Student Ministries did. As a team they went into public schools and orphanages to teach the good news of Jesus Christ to over 600 Panamanians, many of whom accepted Jesus.
Five ordinary high school students, Kale (17), Luke (16), Jesse (17), Susie (14), and Kylie 17), share their insights on serving in the church. Read the following interview to learn what these teens had to say about volunteering their time and talents to further the kingdom of God. High school students, check out how your peers are spending their free time, and prayerfully consider joining them! Adults, get ready to be inspired and challenged by the self-sacrificing attitudes of these teens, who truly illustrate what it means to have a servant’s heart.
