What times we live in! Considering the stir that we’re all seeing surrounding the COVID-19 Corona Virus, I felt it was important that I send a note to share my thoughts, as well as our leadership’s plan regarding our gatherings as we continue to navigate this developing situation.
While I am not qualified to make a statement about the severity, scope, or management of this virus, there is one thing that I do know,
The following is an update from Pastor Rod Thompson and Cross Culture Missions, a missionary ministry of Reliance Church:
I have Italian Residency!
This is important because I can now purchase a vehicle in my name. We still have work to do for Zuza’s residency. We must obtain updated copies of our wedding certificate and her birth certificate. We may have to go to Serbia to pick them up or possibly go the Serbian Consulate in Trieste, Italy.
For those of you who missed it, here is the video from our Prophecy update.
As believers, we need to be made aware as to where we are in regards to the second coming of Christ. The Bible tells us, “For you yourselves know full well that the day of the Lord will come just like a thief in the night. While they are saying, “Peace and safety!” then destruction will come upon them suddenly like labor pains upon a woman with child, and they will not escape. But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that the day would overtake you like a thief; for you are all sons of light and sons of day. We are not of night nor of darkness; so then let us not sleep as others do, but let us be alert and sober” (1 Thes. 5:1-6). We need to be aware!
In a world of substitute sugar, artificial grass, I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter, and countless other alternative replacements, we find ourselves looking to man’s engineering to alter God’s perfect plan. It just comes natural to us to think we can find and create a better way. Perhaps it’s a less painful way out of a trial, or a faster result for a difficult situation, whatever it may be, but we tend to think we know better. Sure, we start with the right motive, maybe even an honest-to-goodness biblical truth, but the second we put our spin on it, it is no longer His perfect plan. Isaiah tells us this:
I felt inspired by the “Summer of Testimonies” to tell the story of how I came to be a follower of Jesus. I grew up in a non-religious home. I must have been about ten years old the first time it occurred to me that I didn’t have a religion to identify with. I asked my dad what we would say our religion was if someone were to ask, and his answer was, “Well, I guess I would say that I’m a Christian.” I was bewildered by his answer.
