Sermon Recap 07.31.11
Last Sunday we studied 1 Corinthians 4:1-13 and discussed the church in Corinth. Paul had planted the church 5 years earlier and writes the letter to address the rampant sin and fundamental doctrinal misconceptions prevailing in the young church. Paul delineates the role church leadership should fulfill, challenging leaders to act as both servants and stewards. Paul responds to the issue of the church losing sight of Whose church it is and what the church’s chief purpose is when he writes, “there should be no schism in the body, but the members should have the same care for one another.” (1 Corinthians 12:25).
This Sunday, we will be diving into a character study with guest speaker Don McClure. Please join us Sunday at 9am or 11am at the Linfield campus, where the pastor will expound on a character from the bible.
