Oswald Chambers said,
“Worship is giving God the best He has given you.”
God created humanity with a capacity to know, love, and worship Him. Worship is the place where the heart of God and the heart of His child meet. We express our worship as we read the Bible (Psalm 119), pray, give tithes and offerings, and offer praise through music. Yet, the greatest demonstration of worship we can offer the Lord is living a righteous life with Him at the center.
Our vision for worship at Reliance is for people not to be distracted by music, but to be inspired by God. It is our obligation as leaders of worship to lead people to the throne of God. We use song as our outward expression for our love, thanksgiving, praise, and understanding of what Jesus has done for us. For a complete understanding of worship, please read “What We Believe: Worship.”
ACCOMPLISHING THE VISION
Sunday Morning Worship
Our worship team’s primary goal is to plan and prepare worship for our Sunday morning services. We strive to create a music based, distraction free environment where every person visiting our church can encounter God in a very real way.
1 Peter 4:10 says, “As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.”
In light of this scripture, we believe that it is our duty to prepare the songs we play and execute them to the best of our ability for the purpose of glorifying Jesus.
There are several opportunities to use your musical gifts to serve Jesus at Reliance Church. We are constantly in need of more musicians to fill the need throughout our various ministries. Click the “Contact This Ministry” button above to see how you can get involved!
