VISION STATEMENT

Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed, better known as A.W.A.N.A. strives to encourage God’s kids to hide His Word in their hearts. AWANA helps churches and parents work together to develop spiritually strong children and youth who faithfully follow Jesus Christ. Our programs offer a proven approach for evangelizing and disciplining kids in the church and community.

AWANA helps train children to know, love, and serve Jesus Christ. Kids pre-k all the way through 5th Grade are welcome!

ACCOMPLISHING THE VISION

Handbook Time & Scripture Memorization

The children are encouraged and required to hide God’s word in their hearts by way of Scripture Memorization. Each child receives a Handbook which they individually work through at their own pace and are rewarded with merits and awards for specific milestone accomplishments in their books.

The children learn to grow and understand scripture and rightly divide it so as expected of us all in the Bible. The seeds planted are grown by God which flourish into the pillars of truth that we as Christians should live by.  Our curriculum has a nearly 60-year track record for building an enduring biblical faith in the lives of children and youth as well as providing a resource that enables our church to partner with you as  parents in growing spiritually strong kids. Handbook Time also allows your children to be surrounded by Reliance Church Volunteers to impact your kids for life and influence them for Christ

Group Time

Group Time is an interactive and more in depth study of scripture. Each Group Time begins with a topical sermon that is relative and age appropriate to the specific clubber. It allows the children to not only interact with one another but with the leaders so we can hear their hearts on certain issues they are facing.   Group time also allows Awana clubbers to understand the life application of the verses they are memorizing and reading. For the older children, Group Time is also a time where they familiarize themselves with their Bibles in an exercise called Sword Drills. Sword Drills train clubbers in an applied sense, how to find scripture references pertinent to the message in the Bible. Children learn the whereabouts of scripture placements and understand how scripture verses support one another to convey proof of the Truth in God’s Word.

Game Time

The key to Awana’s success is often stated as GAME TIME because most clubbers will tell you this is their favorite part of club night. Clubbers participate in exciting team games on the Awana Circle through age-appropriate games. Competition is not emphasized in the early grades, but gradually will increase with the higher grade levels. Awana games are fun! Clubbers learn teamwork, sharing, and discipline.
