The-Historic-Temecula-Pujol-Schoolhouse-ChapelThe History.

In 1915, the legacy of Christianity in the Temecula Valley was forever changed when Freda Knott purchased Temecula’s first school house and converted it into what is now, exactly 100 years later, the Reliance Church Chapel. Freda started a legacy. One that would far surpass her generation, her children’s generation, and even her grandchildren’s generation. Today, we continue in the legacy she started.

Temeculas-Freda-KnottReliance Church is not a building, and it never has been. Reliance Church is a family of believers, united in Christ and dedicated to making disciples, but every family needs a home. Home is where we gather, where we are fed, and from which generations are raised. In building a new home, we are beginning a new legacy. Will you join us?

Reliance-Church-Building-CampaignThe Plan.

Our building project will be divided into several phases starting with the main sanctuary and parking lot. Upon completion of these two phases, we will be able to move our Sunday service into our new home and begin preparations for future phases which will include several classrooms and office space.

The Goal.

In order to begin construction, we need to raise $500,000. We wanted to figure out what impact that would have on our congregation and here’s what we found: If each person committed to giving $75 per month to Building a Legacy, we would be 100% funded in less than a year.

The Sermon.

On Palm Sunday, Pastor Ted gave a sermon on John 12:1-13 in which Jesus was anointed by Mary at Bethany. Mary had taken a pint of pure nard and used it to anoint Jesus in preparation for his death, burial, and resurrection. Mary was building a legacy. We encourage you to watch the entire sermon as Pastor Ted speaks to Building a Legacy and  addresses where we are as a church and where we need to be in order to see this legacy through.
