Tea “Lights”
“No one lights a lamp and then hides it or puts it under a basket. Instead, it is put on a lamp-stand to give light to all who enter the room.~Luke 11:33
Wow! What a night. The tables were beautifully decorated, the food was exquisite, the Tea Bar unbelievable, the tea hat…oh the tea hats, and the stage was lit with over 100 lights…but what made the brightest illumination in the room were God’s lovely women. His glorious light radiated and permeated the room as the women shared their evening together. We enjoyed great food, great fellowship, dining music (thank you Linfield Students) worship, and an amazing, as always, message from Janie Alfred. And I can’t forget, the men who diligently served us the entire day and evening.
In Titus Chapter 2:3-5 the Lord exhorts the older women to train the younger women to love their husbands and their children, to live wisely and be pure, to take care of their homes, to do good, and to be submissive to their husbands. Then they will not bring shame on the word of God. As I scanned the room I saw generations of women doing just that.

Women who were related to each other taking responsibility in the mentoring process of the next generation, but then I also noticed something else, women who were not related (by blood) doing the very same thing, understanding this principle in God’s word, raising to the occasion, being an example to those around them in love. It’s seems to be a rare thing to give of your time and energy these days to pour your experiences, knowledge and love into another human being, against the grain. What a proud moment as a Pastors wife to see the bible come alive and truly “light” a room for all to see. That was the theme of our evening….This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine! Enjoy the pictures!
Blessings,
