“What If It’s True?” Easter 2015

Introducing Our Italy Missionaries

David, evangelism

David has been a missionary in Italy over 7 years and now his new bride Denae has joined him. Together they have gifts in teaching, evangelism, music and discipleship. Pray God will multiply them as they are a light for Jesus in this mountain town of Ferrara, Italy. Follow them at David and Denae website  also David’s Instagram and Denae’s Instagram.

Pray for us leaders – wisdom and consistency in leadership meetings, church organization, and prayer with one another. And above all that we would have spiritual unity and growth in our team relationships.

Pray that the Lord would raise up people in the church to have a heart to serve in kids ministry, projection etc. Denae is now meeting every Sunday morning with 10-year old Violyn. Pray for wisdom and that Violyn would become fully and passionately committed to Christ. She is already reading her Bible at school and explaining it to her classmates!

The Lord has been bringing various people to us from a nearby US military base. Pray for wisdom and grace – how to minister to them, how to conduct services in both English & Italian and that there would be no division/cliques.

We have been so encouraged by some of these new relationships. Namely, one sister that is passionate about the Lord has brought some real refreshment and encouragement to us. Praise God!

That the Lord would bless our relationship with Marco and Laura. Dave is no longer teaching Laura English but Denae is taking an exercise class she teaches. Pray the Lord would open more doors to develop relationships with locals.

pray that spiritual maturity, love, peace, unity and harmony would abound and that our marriage would be used to draw others to Christ. PRAISE-A LOT of good growth and fruit has been borne suddenly in the last few weeks. Thank you for your prayers!

Denae has begun to write Scripture songs in Italian. Pray for inspiration, motivation, creativity, collaboration. There is very little being birthed or created and very little use of these mediums in the Italian language. Pray this would draw many Italians to Christ and inspire other Jesus loving Italians to be creative for Christ.

David says: Thank you for your faithfulness there at the church and your love towards us. We are so blessed by your prayers, support and keeping in touch.

And from Denae: thank you to everyone who is praying for us…I am ineffably blessed by you. Lord bless and encourage each one of you.

Listen to Denae’s song.

Meet Our Belgium Missionaries

Guillaume & Abigail Hoc, Jan 2015

Will and Abby met at Calvary Chapel Bible College in York, England. Will is from Belgium and Abby from California (daughter of Justin and Janie Alfred). They moved to Will’s hometown of Namur, Belgium with the desire to plant a church. Right now Will is working a full-time job in addition to student ministry and Abby is learning to speak French as well as teaching a women’s Bible study with Rachael, an interpreter who is a new believer herself!

Abigail writes: First of all let me thank you for your interest in what the Lord is doing in Belgium. Belgium is what Will would call a “post-catholic” country, where most people have misconceptions about God from the Roman Catholic church, mixed with the impression that the Bible is an outdated book, obscure and irrelevant. There is also a fast-growing Muslim population in the main cities. A large amount of the very few Christians in Belgium are actually of African descent (1st and 2nd generation), we therefore have come to minister with a lot of non-Belgians. The Lord has opened a door for a students ministry in Will’s hometown of Namur, in the form of a weekly bible study, we’ve had it going for over a year now, and the attendance has been a bit inconsistent (between 3 and 12 students). We had the vision to plant a church in Namur, a city that is really lacking in solid bible teaching churches, but doors have not opened for that. In the meantime, Will has been approached by two different churches to consider pastoring them (one of the churches is an international Baptist church that would like to become a Calvary Chapel and is at the other end of the country. The second church is a bit closer to Namur and would offer a one-year pastor internship.)

We could really use your prayers for guidance as we try to discern the Lord’s will. We do want to keep the students’ ministry going, as we have seen much fruit from it. We also have a blog that will take you back to the very beginning of God calling us to Belgium. www.belgiumharvest.blogspot.com If you have any question, please ask. God bless you and thank you for your support!! The Hocs

Thailand Missionaries

JRulison Family Picture 2013

Reliance Church is excited to support Jon and Clair Rulison and their work in Thailand with Global Recordings Network. Jon asks for prayer for safety and fruitful contacts as he joins the mission’s Motorbike Gospel Team (MGT) on a trip to the Karen Sgaw language group Feb 12-14, 2015. The GRN Thailand staff have recorded hours of gospel messages in the Karen language, both evangelistic and teaching, from Creation to Christ. Pray as the people hear and learn in their own language they will understand God’s love for them in Jesus Christ and turn to him.. For a quick story of a previous mountainous motorcycle trip to the Karen people, go to http://globalrecordings.net/en/motorbike-thailand

Jon is the director of the GRN work with a multi-national team that includes British, Korean and Thai staff members. Their son Forest is in high school there and their daughter Brook is a sophomore at Biola University. Pray for Brook to keep a close walk with the Lord while far from her family and carrying a heavy academic load at Biola.
